Condo & Co-op Board
Condominium, Cooperative Unit Owners And Apartment Dwellers Advisory Board
The Hackensack Condo & Co-op Advisory Board was created to improve the quality of life in our town affecting the residents of condos, coops and multi-family dwellings outlined in the enabling ordinance.
The Board is an extremely active City committee. It has successfully led the protest against allowing an LTACH (Long Term Care Facility) from being built on Prospect and Summit Avenues. This Board was instrumental in protesting the use of a Medical Toxic Waste Coldwater Sterilization Machine from being put to use at the Prospect Heights Care Center and in requesting the recent passage of an Ordinance to prohibit this use anywhere in Hackensack. It has also been very supportive of the soon to be installed traffic light at Beech & Prospect Avenues and of the recently placed Drug Receptacle Box in Police Headquarters that will be available 24/7 for public use.
The past actions of this Board as it relates to the Teterboro Flight Path and its causing unbearable noise and possible safety issues to our residents has revived current responses from the FAA and the local TANAAK Group.700 signatures on petitions were delivered by them and contact was made that caused our Senators to get involved and for the FAA to propose 2 possible options to be considered for change in the current Flight Path. They are continuing to attend meetings and support rallies when necessary to keep this problem alive until solved.
Their goal is to enlist more buildings to send representatives to their meetings that are usually held on the third Thursday of the month at City Hall at 7 PM.
