“Art on a Stick: Raccoons”

The Hackensack Creative Arts Team (CAT)’s “Art on a Stick: Raccoons” is a public art Installation by artist Damien Mitchell in collaboration with the Northern NJ Community Foundation’s ArtsBergen. CAT’s initiative, Creative Hackensack, integrates arts and culture into the redevelopment of Main Street, Hackensack, to enliven the streetscape and engage community members. CAT projects beautify and revitalize the community by incorporating public art into commonplace elements. In “Art on a Stick: Raccoons”, this ordinary and ubiquitous animal is altered through colorful art and creativity, animating and transforming spaces along Main Street.

Stop by the lawn at the Johnson Library, at 274 Main Street, to view this lively and unique installation starting April 13, 2017.
