While last year’s National Night Out in Hackensack was cut short by rain and lightning just before the headlining band was able to play, this year, hundreds of residents were able to enjoy the great food, drinks, amusements and music and make memories with friends and Hackensack employees, as much of the event was held inside of HACPAC located at 102 State Street.
Started in 1984, National Night Out is meant to increase awareness about police programs in communities,
such as drug prevention, town watch, neighborhood watch, and other anti-crime efforts.
“I would like to thank all of the Police Officers, Firefighters and DPW workers who showed up last night to bring the community together,” said Deputy Mayor David Sims.
“National Night Out is a great tradition, and I was thrilled to see residents enjoying food, drinks, gifts from many of our City Departments and volunteer organizations, and of course great music by ‘Eaglemania.’
