ATTENTION BERGEN COUNTY EMPLOYERS

We would like to offer you a unique opportunity for your employees who may be in need of basic skills improvement. Beginning March 1, 2006, the Bergen Community College Ciarco Learning Center located in Hackensack, will offer a short program of Basic Skills courses, to workers employed by small to medium sized businesses within Bergen County. Because this is a special program initiative sponsored through a partnership with the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development, the courses will be offered free of charge to workers employed for 30+ hours per week or more, and who have a social security number. (Note: the 30 hour per week requirement can be a combination of part-time jobs that total 30+ hours per week).

The courses that will be offered by the Ciarco Learning Center for this special initiative, will provide critical skill sets necessary to improve workers' on-the-job performance. The program will include courses in:

BASIC SKILLS IN MATHEMATICS
ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE
WORK- READINESS
