A Message from the Hackensack Housing Authority
Motor Vehicle Commission: Mobile Unit Driver's License Renewal Program
Driver License Renewal Open to Any Bergen County Resident.
Many senior citizens and those with disabilities find it difficult to get to the Department of Motor Vehicle during the winter months to renew their license. Therefore, the Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) has created the MVC Mobile Unit, where the MVC comes to you. The Mobile Unit will be visiting the City of Hackensack to renew driver license and non-driver identification cards on December 5th 2006 for any residents.
The MVC Mobile Unit will be in operation from 10am-2pm located in the parking lot of 164 Beech Street, a Hackensack Housing Authority senior citizen building.
The license will be issued by appointment only. If you would like to participate please contact MaryBeth Walsh at the Hackensack Housing 201-342-4280 extension 19 for an appointment. You can also email MaryBeth here. Appointments will be made every ten minutes from 10am-2pm. You must give your license number and confirm that you have 6 pts of ID/address verification requirements before you schedule your appointment. You must call for an appointment by November 28, 2006.
MVC will issue driver license renewals, up to 6 months from the customer's current license expiration date (December 2006 until June 2007) or upgrade the customer's paper/photo driver license to a digital driver license. Also available is a non-driver identification card. The same proofs of identification are required as for a driver license. The non-driver ID is valid for four years.
Required fees will vary. MVC will accept cash or check.
Customers must meet the 6 points of Identification and Address Verification Requirements. See the enclosed brochures or visit our
website at www.njmvc.gov for a complete listing. If you have any questions please contact MaryBeth Walsh at the Hackensack Housing Authority 201-342-4280, appointments must be made by November 28, 2006.
