The City has received a $100,000 grant from the County to be used for improvements at Staib Park, including a new pavilion, a new playground, and new basketball courts.
“We are blessed with several parks here in Hackensack and we are committed to providing our residents with the best recreation areas possible,” Hackensack Mayor John Labrosse said. “Anything we can do to upgrade these parks, we will do. This is a nice surprise and we and we Avery grateful to the County.”
Hackensack applied for an Open Space fund from the County.
“We’re very excited to present this check and we’re committed to have Open Space and have our municipalities take advantage by applying for these grants,” said Bergen County Freeholder Chairwoman Germaine Ortiz. “Open Space is very important to us. It improves the quality of life for all our residents.”
