City officials, DPW crews, Fire and Police have been working around the clock to respond to several problems brought by the remnants of Hurricane Ernesto.
As of Labor Day, some parts of the city, including Summit Avenue, are still without power. City officials are in constant contact with PSEG to ensure that they will restore power as soon possible. PSEG crews are working to restore power to thousands of residents and businesses in New Jersey.
City public works crews have labored through the weekend to remove downed tree limbs in an effort to keep roadways open for travel and to assist PSEG crews in restoring power. Some streets remained closed, however, due to damaged utility poles and live wires. Residents should stay clear of any downed wires.
City officials ask for your patience and cooperation in the wake of this storm. Please be mindful of the potential hazards around you such as dangling tree limbs and power lines and look into neighbors who may require assistance.
