Public Meeting: Combined Sewer System
The City of Hackensack (the City) is soliciting participation from its residents and other interested stakeholders through a Public Participation Program for the development of its Long-Term Control Plan (LTCP) for Combined Sewer Systems (CSS).
This Public Participation Program is being utilized to solicit input from the City’s residents and other interested stakeholders to develop a financially and environmentally acceptable plan to reduce the frequency, volume and contamination of Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) discharges into the Hackensack River as mandated by the State of New Jersey and United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA).
The City will be utilizing three Public Meetings, its website and brochures to inform its residents about the developments on its LTCP and to solicit comments. Please note that the first Public Meeting will be held on October 17, 2006 in conjunction with the City Council Meeting at 7:00PM. This first meeting will be utilized to explain the State of New Jersey’s CSO Policy and the activities that will be taking place in the development of a LTCP. Please make every effort to attend.
