Full time 40 hours/week. Under direction, drives a truck with a single axle to transport nonhazardous materials, equipment, or people; does other related work. Knowledge of the methods used to operate Sanitation/DPW trucks and auxiliary equipment . Operates snow removal equipment to keep roads clear. One (1) year of experience in driving a truck with a single axle. Ability to operate trucks and auxiliary equipment such as snow plows, spreaders, and power take-off in a skilled, safe, and competent manner. Appointees must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and applicable endorsements for the class and type of vehicle being operated. Salary D.O.Q. BUILDING INSPECTOR- CITY OF HACKENSACK, Bergen County. 3 Month Temp Position
** PART TIME (20 Hrs./week). Under direction, inspects new and existing buildings and structures to ensure compliance with the State Uniform Construction Code and enforces same to ensure public safety, health, and welfare; does related work as required. Inspects construction jobs, checks quality and amount of work completed, and resolves construction problems. Inspects Property Maintenance Issues and Zoning Complaints daily. Prepares essential reports. Enforcement of the City of Hackensack’s municipal code items, zoning laws and other State laws and regulations is a MUST. Candidate must be responsible, dependable, organized with strong customer service and communication skills with the ability to multi-task and work well with the public. Duties include zoning, property maintenance, code enforcement, plan review and sales/rental inspections. Interaction with public & planning board. Must be experienced; prefer zoning official certification, UCC license, knowledge of Mitchell Humphreys construction & zoning program Knowledge of basic material standards, codes, and enforcement requirements related to weatherability and durability of installed construction materials. Appointee will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey. Must possess an H.H.S. License and municipal building inspection experience. Salary D.O.Q.
